Chrysler Cars belongs to the big three league

There is a special league of car manufacturers that belong to the big three league and Chrysler Cars is one amongst them. Although the Chrysler Cars manufacturers have seen great shift in fortunes for years to come they have always been able to bounce back with newer and better ideas for their cars.

In the year 1990, Chrysler Cars joined Mercedes Benz and came up with the new company Daimler Chrysler which brought about a greater turn in its fortunes. Over the last few years Chrysler Cars have been doing really great.

The first Chrysler Cars were born in the year 1925 and was rolled out by Walter P. Chrysler who himself was a great machinist. He bought over Maxwell Motor corporation and built up his own company Chrysler Cars on it. The cars that rolled out of the Chrysler Cars manufacturing units brought with them not only great reliability and quality but also engineering marvel unparallel to any other. This earned the Chrysler Cars manufacturers great goodwill in the market and brought several more buyers into its fold. The cars were not only prototypes but revolutionary and radical in their looks and working. They were designed with aerodynamics in mind. The swooping lines clubbed with the grille.

The Depression years brought about a great change in the fortunes of many a car manufacturer. But, Chrysler Cars was able to survive it because of their two hot selling cars which were the Dodge and Plymouth. The designs were far more traditional than what would have otherwise be seen in other Chrysler Cars and also lower price tags.

In the year 1951 the Hemi was introduced which had a horsepower of about 135 hp which was far better than the previous models. The V8 engine was a far better one than the one that was there previously.

By the year 1970, Chrysler Cars had to ask the government to bail it out of bankruptcy for $1.5 billion. The latest offering from Chrysler Cars is the Chrysler 300 full sized sedan. This Chrysler Car was the highlight of the company and went about to sell so many of them.

As soon as the American economy slumped into recession, Chrysler Cars had to offer bankruptcy as that was unavoidable. The federal government did intervene with a bailout. Finally, Chrysler Cars was taken over by Fiat which is an European automaker.

As of today, Chrysler Cars find themselves struggling to make the mark in the small compact and mid-size car versions. The Chrysler Cars manufacturers have tried to add on more sophistication and refinement to the cars along with a great build and quality to it. The Chrysler Cars need to come out with younger models than compared to the more traditional ones that are around. Chrysler Cars have to face fierce competition not only from the domestic market but the international market as well. Chrysler Cars have been toying with the idea of a newer version.
