Daewoo Cars the South Korean Automotive Giant

Daewoo Cars is one of the most important and great South Korean motor car manufacturing company. It was established in the year 1967. The USP of the Daewoo Cars manufacturer was the production of cars that were compact and small to make them just right for the city roads and also to be able to withstand the downturn in the economies.

These cars were also made with the functionality of them not only being good to look at but also great fun to be driven in and drive around. This kind of strategy helped Daewoo Cars a great deal in trying to combat bankruptcy and get out of their financial concerns.

The South Korean government helped Daewoo Cars financially and politically. At this point in time, Daewoo Cars have got the best of General Motors engines in them and many car mobile departments have been bought over by GM.

Daewoo Cars is the third largest automobile manufacturing company in South Korea. The company went bankrupt in the year 1999. But, in the year 2008 as a major turnabout, the GM Daewoo Cars group were able to export 1.0 million units. These were the cars like Opel, Chevrolet, Buick, Suzuki and the GMC.

Daewoo Cars has been in the American market since a real long time selling all different kinds of products however, in the year 1999 for the first time it forayed into the market of cars for the North American market. The USP of these cars was to be the most affordable of compact cars at down to earth pricing. These were supposed to be the entry level vehicles in the market.

The Daewoo Lanos were introduced in the hatch back variety with a two door or a four door sedan. However, it did not go down really well in this market and was outclassed by its competitors in every region. The thing that went against the Daewoo Lanos was that they were compact cars and anyone who was really tall would find it uncomfortable to be seated in them.

The other things that buyers weren't happy with were the interiors. The materials used inside looked tacky and cheap. Also, the seating wasn't one of the most comfortable ones for either the driver or the passenger.

The low grade materials used impeached on the kind of reliability that the Daewoo Cars offered its owners as well. The safety features were just what was required and nothing to really talk home about.

To top it all, the other competitors in the same sub compact car range were offering a good amount of warranty and had financially sound companies to stand by them. All of these factors combined to ensure that the Daewoo Cars weren't really the most coveted ones at that point in time.

From then on there were several other cars rolled out such as the Daewoo Lanos Sedan in the year 2002, 2001 Daewoo Lanos and Daewoo Legnaze and Nubira.
