This is my personal car makers shrine page.
If you are interested in buying yourself an SUV or a truck then don't do so until you have seen the ones from Isuzu Cars. The Isuzu Cars manufacturing company has seen quite a bit of financial upheaval and therefore has not been able to introduce a new car. The lack of funding and the marketing reach has made it partner with General Motors in a big way. There are several other models that are going to be launched along with the existing ones of General Motors.
The way the company was named means fifty bells and it is after the river that flows through the shrines of Japan. The company was started way back in the year 1916 in Japan. It was actually a ship building and engineering company. Then later on it forged ahead ties with an English company and that was the debut of the A9 car.
The 1960s brought about a new passenger car called the Florian. After that there was the Bellet and then the 117 Coupe. There were trucks by the Isuzu Cars Company as well.
Then in the 1980s the Isuzu Cars wanted to foray into the American market and that is just what they did. The car called the Pup was the first to be sold in the United States. Then came the Trooper which was an SUV and had the two or four door. This was first introduced in the market in the year 1983. It very soon became an extremely popular car. Then the Isuzu Cars Company signed a joint venture agreement with Subaru in the year 1987. This joint venture saw the birth of a new car called the Isuzu Rodeo and the Isuzu Pickup. The less popular cars from Isuzu Cars were the Italian designed Impulse which was a sports Coupe and then the I-Mark which was quite an old car and did not have the new age technology to it that the buyers demanded.
The Isuzu Cars was doing quite well in the year 1990. They saw a gradual and yet steep climb in the number of cars that they were able to sell. The Trooper was the best of models and there were massive sales made in this domain.
The 2000s were not really good for Isuzu Cars. Their top ranking cars which were the Rodeo and the Trooper which were of an increased size and the amount of luxuries that they offered the buyer were beginning to see newer cars that were giving them a run for their money. The competition for them was really fierce and stiff and their sales saw a decline. The Axiom which was a cross over SUV from Isuzu Cars was stopped from the assembly line.
The other cars that were manufactured by Isuzu Cars were the Isuzu Amigo, Isuzu Ascender, Isuzu Axiom, Isuzu Hombre, Isuzu I-Series, Isuzu Impulse, Isuzu Rodeo, Isuzu Rodeo Sport and Isuzu Pickup from a wide range of other models as well.
