The company was founded by six Maserati brothers in the year 1914.
Each of these brothers were in charge of a particular aspect of car manufacturing as each of them was a true blood car racing enthusiast. The first Maserati Cars manufacturing unit was set up in Bologna in Italy.
The Maserati Cars were raced in several different races in the 20s and 30s and went on to win several races. In the year 1937, the last of the brothers sold the company.
The first of the road cars was an A6 Coupe and was made in the years from 1947 to 57. The main money for the car manufacturing company came from selling spark plugs and car batteries.
The next Maserati Car was made I the year 1950 and that was the Maserati 3500 GT. This had a double overhead cam inline. By the time the 1960s rolled in, the Maserati Cars were only made for the roads rather than the race tracks. The next model called the Mistral Coupe from Maserati Cars was considered to be a really sexy car. Another one was the Sebring. There was the Citroën in the year 1968.
The Maserati Cars fortunes seemed to be diminish in the 1980s and it certainly was a difficult time for them. The main model that was launched in the year 1991 called Biturbo was not really doing well and its import was stopped in the year 1991.
In the year 1993, Fiat bought over Maserati Cars. It continued to make the new version of the Biturbo. Then, Maserati Cars was bought over by Ferrari and it held it for a while before selling it.
Even today, Maserati Cars are synonymous with affordability and great end sexy looks and styles at the most wonderful performance and styling factors. The different models that have been manufactured by Maserati Cars at some point of time or the other are the Maserati Coupe, Maserati GranSport, Maserati Gran Turismo, Maserati Gran Turismo Convertible, Maserati Qauttroporte, and the Maserati Spyder.
Maserati Cars continue to be the most coveted of cars and do not come to you at super steep prices. They have been able to make a name for themselves in the buyer's mind like none other.
